16 Sept 05 - Within the last two months we had to: 1)  rebuild the engine on my work truck; 2) repair diaphragm on spray rig; 3) Repair defective tire on another company truck; 4) repair another co-workers truck after a boy on a bike ran through an intersection, smashing up fender, hood, and windshield; 5) water pump failure required another repair on a truck that had the transmission rebuilt just a couple months ago.   Bad Luck?? I have no idea what is going wrong but everything associated with the company seems to be breaking.

I faired Hurrican Katrina well.  Power was out about 3 days.  I slept in the cab of my F150.  I turned on the AC for 10 minutes while getting the latest news out of New Orleans.  Then I would sleep for two hours until I became uncomfortable again.  Thank God I still have a house and job.  That is much more than thousands of people currently have who were displaced.

31 May 05 - The Place on the Amite was already sold before I even inquired.  Oh well.  Doesn't look like the tomatoes will get planted.  I simply am not motivated.  Tired of renting and putting tomatoes in pots.  Considering small land purchase and living in a barn, or Shack on the Manchac.  Actually the 'live-in' Barn plans look pretty efficient and don't look like something you would necessarily put your horse in.  I am excited about the potential.  Finally got some very good pictures of the Spear Point that John collected on a Comite River trip and I plan on getting them online tonight.

Appears that these entries will be on a monthly basis. Not much to say really.

26 Apr 05 - This Easter Weekend on a 41mile (as the river flows) canoe trip we see a giant crucifix, that turns out to be the work of Chainsaw Sculptist Burt Fleming (http://www.woodbcreations.com).

Still contemplating purchase of small 'home/camp' off the Amite that regularily gets floodwater in the lower cinderblock construction.  -Not likely to do that purchase, but still thinking.

Still unpacking from recent move.. maybe I am just lazy.

I need to plant my tomatoes and New Zealand Spinach.

A co-worker friend recently had a head-on collision.  A full sized chevy crosed into his lane.  He was very lucky to survive and suffered no detectable injuries.
